The initial residence and work authorization (Working for others)
This is an application for a temporary residence permit and work permit that an employer or entrepreneur submits in order to hire a worker for a period exceeding ninety days but not exceeding five years.
The initial residence and work authorization (Self-employement)
This is the granting of an authorisation for temporary residence and work to a foreign individual who is not resident in Spain, allowing them to carry out an economic activity on their own account.
Those wishing to engage in self-employed economic activities must meet all legal requirements, including sufficient investment and the capacity to generate employment.
The authorisation to reside and work as a self-employed person is limited to an Autonomous Community and to a specific sector, with a duration determined by regulations.
The Autonomous Communities are responsible for granting authorisation to work, in coordination with the residence permit, in accordance with their competences established in the Statutes of Autonomy.
